This is the Statt Mann, Baby. It’s time to Scatt a Little Bit… Never fails. I pay close attention to a NASCAR race and it ends in a hail of controversy and nonsense. I’m talking about the end of the Chase to the Championship decider Saturday night in Richmond, Virginia. It’s bad enough that the…
NASCAR Nationwide Mid-Ohio winner A.J. Allmendinger is one of our favorite guests in The Freak Nation. He’s especially fun after a win like the one Saturday when he dominated the stock car race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. But wait’ll you hear A.J.’s praise of Roger Penske and his indifference to Kenny Sargent! Listen…
NASCAR TV Analyst Kyle Petty has been praised and villified for his criticism of NASCAR driver Danica Patrick. The issue surfaced again this week when Petty said Patrick would have difficulty becoming a stock driver and Danice replied she didn’t care what critics like Petty said. That left the door open for The Freaks to…
This is the Statt Mann Baby. It’s time to Scatt a little bit. Tragic story about Jason Leffler this week. He was killed in a Sprint Car accident at a small track in New Jersey Wednesday night. There’ll be lots of questions about the safety at small tracks around the country. Lots of racing happens…
In the wake of Jason Leffler’s death, we Freaks thought we’d replay one of the last interviews we did with Jason, because it’s always good to remember the drivers in the fun times. And oh yes, Jason shows his fun side here as always… from getting beat by Justin Allgaier in a burger building contest…
Three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart opened his motor home to the Freaks and, as you can imagine, a great conversation broke out. Funny, because all they wanted to do was see a hockey match! At the core of the conversation was Tony’s pet dog, some cheese and, like most things in NASCAR these…
NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Carl Edwards finished third in the Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway Saturday night. The Freaks caught up with him right after the race during a special broadcast on our Dallas affiliate 105.3 FM. You can often catch Edwards when he’s ready to talk candidly and Saturday night was one of…
NASCAR analyst Kyle Petty is one of The Freaks favorite guests. He says what he wants and generally opens out eyes to new concepts when he speaks. He also likes to ride motorcycles as he’ll do in his 19th Kyle Petty Charity Ride which starts April 27 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and extends 2,100 miles…
Some of NASCAR’s top twitter handles were hosting #TheSideShow at Texas Motor Speedway, and before their madness began, Kenny and Crash had a chance to catch up with two of them… one a cone and one a casm. Uh huh. Incredible how these inanimate objects have real voices, too! Enjoy…
This is the Statt Mann Baby. It’s time to Scatt a little bit. It’s still too early in the NASCAR Sprint Cup season to put much trust in trends. But there is something that’s worth watching. I noticed it before the season started and wondered if it would be an issue. The nose on the…
