This is the Statt Mann Baby! It's time to Scatt a little bit.

I failed at something this weekend. It's rare but it does happen.

I promised and didn't deliver. There were reasons but they aren't important. I met a remarkable time frame but I promised X and delivered Y.  To me that's unacceptable.

I only wish American business felt the same way and held themselves to as high a standard as, say, the American women's World Cup team that battled to the end against Brazil the other day.

We were quick to say those women reflected the American spirit. But when the chips were down, they didn't blame someone else. They didn't point a finger at a union. They didn't ship the last seconds of the game to India or the Philipines so they could have some extra for after the tournament.

They also didn't look to NATO or Canada or the Chinese treasury when they wanted a wingman at the end of the contest. They accepted the job at hand and tackled it.

What's this got to do with my failure? Maybe everything. I missed a fantasy deadline but I delivered. I don't want a medal. I just want the companies I do business with to respect me enough to get my job done and stop looking for wingmen offshore when what they really want is another mansion or Mercedes.

Peace.
