This is the Statt Mann Baby!!  Time to Scatt a little bit.

There’s no way to minimize, ignore or diminish the impact of Lewis Hamilton winning the Formula One World Championship Sunday in Brazil.

For those of you who think F1 racing is boring consider that the championship was decided on the last turn of the last lap of the last race of an 18 race season.

It was so close that Felipe Massa, the man who finished second, spent his cool down victory lap Sunday thinking he’d just won the Championship.

Not only is 23-year-old Lewis Hamilton the youngest to ever win the title.  He won it in his second year of competition overcoming a one point loss he experienced last year.

And here’s the catch.  Hamilton may be the last pure champion in Formula One.  Deep changes are in the F1 future, changes that will start next year.

They eventually could include a cost cutting spec motor, a move that could drive people like Ferrari, BMW, Renault and Mercedes from the series.  Imagine all those international brands putting, let’s say, a Ford or a Hyundai engine in their pristine chassis?

A Hyundai Ferrari?  Not likely to happen easily.

And, Hamilton’s ethnicity includes some African blood by way of London and Grenada.  That means a black man is the best driver in the world.

Too bad he wouldn’t have been given a chance to race a cab here in the States.  Unbelievable!

Congratulations and thanks Lewis.

Peace.
