2011 and 2014 NHRA Mello Yello Funny Car champion Matt Hagan is a long-time Friend of the Freaks. Sunday night was a different visit though. His win over legendary drag racer John Force was another step into Hagan’s transition from Virginia farmer to driving champion. We talked with Matt about that, the troubles of missing his farm and his family, and the difficulty of chasing John Force every year for a championship.
