This is the Stattmann Baby!!  Time to Scatt a little bit.

Chew on this a moment:  who will be the personalities that we remember from this so-called Golden Age of racing?

There’s Gordon.  Earnhardt.  Tracy.  Zanardi.  Stewart.  Castroneves.  Personalities all.

But none come close to the story generating personalities I remember like: Foyt.  Andretti.  Petty.  Garlits.  And today’s throw back John Force.

We talked with Big Daddy Don Garlits yesterday and a more engaging, entertaining personality you’ll never find.  He’s just plain FUN!

We understand corporations pay for racing.  They have the gold and make the rules about who and what should spend their money and how they should do it.  But don’t you think that people would talk about motorsports more if they cared about its people instead of its machines and performances?

We always confuse motorsports and entertainment.  But points racing has largely removed entertainment from the track.  And corporations and PR handlers have largely removed it from the garage.

So where’s it supposed to come from?  Huh?!

Where’s it supposed to come from?  The SpeedFreaks and The Freak Nation, that's where!

Peace.
