Joe Gibbs Racing took it’s first Supercross win at Anaheim 1 in SoCal, when Josh Grant not only passed the two big guns Chad Reed and James Stewart after they crashed, but also managed to hold the bike steady with a banner wrapped around his rear brake… truly unbelievable! If you’d like to hear SpeedFreaks with Josh Grant from Sunday night’s show, click here. Josh rode an extremely hard race and was more than deserving of this win. By the way, Stewart DNF’d and Reed brought in a 3-spot, leaving the points in a shocking first race position.

Other motocross winners on the weekend were Jake Weimer in SX Lites and Nathan Skaggs in the Grand Rapids Arenacross.

The Dakar Rally has completed 2 stages in S. America, where the Volkswagens are showing their might yet again… America’s Mark Miller and Robby Gordon are both in the Top 10… log on to Dakar.com for complete stories.

How about those Bodine Bobsledders?! Todd Bodine took the win for the NASCAR contingent, while Morgan Lucas, who finished 2nd for the last 2 years, finally got himself a win in the NHRA category. But, why two categories – a first for this year’s competition? Did NHRA need a hand out? Just listen to our interview with both winners HERE for the full explanation.

Other news… congrats go out to NASCAR’s Carl Edwards as he and Dr. Katherine Downey got married on Saturday… & speaking of weddings, Casey Mears still doesn’t plan to marry his baby’s mamma just yet (or so says our favorite blog)… Ray Evernham, who no longer handles the day to day operations of Gillett-Evernham Motorsports, recently said he’s not sure he agrees with everything that’s being done at the team now, including not only the merger with Petty Enterprises, but also AJ Allmendinger up and replacing Elliott Sadler in the #19 when Sadler’s contract was just recently extended… ouch!

Another ouch may just be that of Clint Bowyer’s alleged Christmas gifts to his crew. According to Jayski and other internet sources, the NASCAR star apparently re-gifted Walmart gift cards to his guys for the holidays. Now, is that appropriate for an $8 million dollar man? Especially an $8 million dollar man who just purchased a new jet for his personal travel? Listen to Sunday’s show snipet HERE for further discussion on the topic.

How about IndyCar’s Danica Patrick last month in Scottsdale, AZ? She became a little SpeedFreak of her own, getting pulled over for going 54 in a 35 and is due in court very soon… but come on folks… why in the hell is that news? Haven’t we all done 10-20 mph over the limit a few times in our lives? Yeah, must have been a slow news day.

Also regarding Phoenix, be sure to catch NASCAR’s Tony Stewart as the Fiesta Bowl Grand Marshal tomorrow… Kenny Sargent is taking me to the game, courtesy of our friends at The Fan, 105.3 FM… HOOK ‘EM HORNS!!!
