This is the Statt Mann, Baby. It’s time to Scatt a Little Bit…

One of the things I enjoy more than anything in racing is watching teams get fast.  To go from the back of the field to the front takes so much work and the accomplishment is so, so fulfilling.

First, in the Red Bull Global Rallycross opener this weekend, Ken Block won the final in Fort Lauderdale with some domination over Scott Speed, a former F1 and NASCAR driver.

I remember when Ken was starting at an age when most guys are winding up their careers.  Ken is now a worldwide brand and competitor who wins stage rallies and missed last year’s Global Rallycross title by only five points.  He has a head start this year after today’s win.

And Saturday, the Whelen Corvette Daytona Prototype won its first Tudor United SportsCar Championship race ever.  It won with a strong showing in Detroit to move into third in the championship points.

Whelen is part of the Action Express garage where it’s team car leads the points and finished third Saturday in Detroit.

A satisfying weekend for many… including me.

Peace.
