This is the Statt Mann, Baby. It’s time to Scatt a Little Bit…

I was watching the big NASCAR race from Talladega and going through my email Sunday afternoon when the irony hit me.

Big 3600 pound stock cars racing in circles in Alabama were matched with Audi technology in Germany. Audi successfully proved Sunday that remote controlled passenger cars are close. It ran an R7 around Hockenheim at speed without a driver.

Think about that for a minute.

Stock cars running around burning fossil fuels versus a stock car running around working on a plan to wean us from burning fossil fuels and both working at racing speeds.

My mind went to glaciers and ice caps melting revealing land man hasn’t seen in thousands of years. Maybe that ice is reintroducing disease that was frozen forever; diseases we no longer have an ability to fight.

Let’s all get off our couches, into our pickups, have a beer and worry if our hearts are healthy enough to have sex any longer.  All those options might be taken from us in the not too distant future.

Happy racing.

Peace.
