This is the Statt Mann Baby. Time to Scatt a little bit.

We hear so much about electrification as the motor sports industry tries to paint itself green.

EnvironmentBut this week the World Motor Sport Council approved a three year agreement with a racing fuel company that’s produced a fossil-free hydrocarbon-based racing fuel.

P1 Racing Fuels in Ireland has blended synthetic and bio-fuel components for high performance racing engines. The mystery fuel will start being used in FIA World Championship series in 2022.

The announcement this week concentrated on the World Rally Championship and the hybrid super cars that will be introduced next season. Former World Rally and Rallycross champion Petter Solberg said he’s used the fuel and it works.

Several things were taken into consideration including sustainability, a low carbon future, performance, costs and supply for a global series like the WRC.

Hopefully this kind of thinking is going on here in America as well.

Peace.
