This is the Statt Mann Baby!! Time to Scatt a little bit.

In Formula One, McLaren will start the season with Lewis Hamilton, a British Black man who’s won at every level getting to F1. There’s no doubt he’ll win at this level – maybe this year – even though rookies don’t win in F1 especially with a defending champion as his teammate.

Today the NFL had two Black coaches on the sidelines fighting for the Super Bowl.

What’s this have to do with racing? After more than 50 years of business, the NASCAR community says it can’t find a Black driver or Crew Chief “qualified” to lead one of its top teams.

J.R. Todd can win with no money and wits. Lewis Hamilton can lead a half billion dollar program. And Lovie Smith and Tony Dungy can take the hopes of entire regions into one game.

But in more than fifty years NASCAR can’t find more than one Black man (who owned and ran his own team) to run one of its Cup programs. Statistically, scientifically, that’s impossible.

Peace.
