This is the Statt Mann Baby!!  Time to Scatt a little bit.

It’s been said the sports is what reality TV wishes it could be.

And motorsports is no different.  You never know what’s going to happen in a true contest, one where EVERYONE must qualify to take part.

Even last week, Kasey Kahne wasn’t fast enough to get into the All-Star field but the fans wanted to see him anyway.  Then, sure enough, Kahne and his crew made some tweaks on his Dodge and Kasey went on to an All-Star win, his first in a year and a half.

That, my friends is drama.

The same is true in the Rally America championship.  It’s thought Subaru is spending maybe millions… at least more than one… to get a championship for Travis Pastrana and Ken Block.

So what’s the case at mid-season?  They’re both chasing Andrew Comrie-Picard who’s running a Mitsubishi Evo on what might amount to the Subaru gas money.

That’s real drama whenever money can’t buy a championship.  Reality TV wishes it could have that much drama every episode.

Peace.
