This is the Statt Mann Baby. It’s time to Scatt a little bit.

We heard a fan Saturday in Daytona Beach speak of the Rolex 24 as a warm-up act for the Daytona 500. You know… Shut UP!! Just Shut UP!!

There was more action in the final hour of the Rolex 24 than most NASCAR races you’ll see this year.

A great race filled with some of the best drivers in the world and they ran it like 24 one-hour sprint races. All out every minute of the 24 hour Classic.

Fans loved it. We were told that all the infield spaces were sold and camper spaces outside the track were filled with people who wanted to see the race.

We drove through the infield Saturday night during the race and there was a buzz about sports car racing. At Sebring there’s a party with drunks and people who don’t know there’s a race going on. I didn’t get that feel Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway.

One funny thing that did happen Saturday evening; When officials brought in NASCAR star Michael Waltrip to the media center for an impromptu news conference, half the room emptied.

Yeah, sports car racing is on the verge of another resurgence in the U.S. and that sounds great.

Peace.
