This is the Statt Mann Baby. It's time to Scatt a little bit.

We now know the replacement for Travis Pastrana at Subaru Rally Team USA.

Brit David Higgins should be familiar to North American rally fans.  He won the American championship in 2002 and 2003.  He’s also won the British championship four times and the Chinese championship twice.  So, obviously, he more than fast.

On top of his speed, he also has a reputation for coaching drivers and helping manufacturers develop cars for world class competition.  He helped train Pastrana for four consecutive American titles.  And he’s helped WRC teams like Mitsubishi and SEAT develop their cars for competition.

Some Americans are upset that an American won’t be in the seat for Subaru Rally Team USA.  That is unfortunate but Subaru is more than interested in recapturing a title it lost to a privateer from Canada last year. Higgins will help with that.

A side note, Higgins’ five year old son is an X Games fan and he’s more than interested in Dad’s new teammate, Dave Mirra, the winningest athlete in X Games history.

So, Dad’s a new hero, especially after Mirra promised to show Matthew some BMX tricks.  We all have our priorities, don’t we!

Peace.
