This is the Statt Mann, Baby. It’s time to Scatt a Little Bit…

I had a spectacular week this week teaching some elementary school kids science, technology, engineering and math inside motor racing terms.

The kids also spent the week building some Pinewood Derby cars and had a chance to race the cars against each other before going to a go-kart track by the end of the week.

No punches were pulled because the kids were all so young. We talked about the Bernoulli Principle, fluid dynamics and why airplanes fly and race cars don’t. They got it all and asked all the right questions during the classes.

It’s proof to me that kids aren’t challenged enough in their educational experiences. And it’s proof that racing is radically under serving its audience.

If all racing is good for is selling beer and over priced watches maybe it should be reassessed. It’s no wonder young people don’t find it exciting anymore. It’s no longer relevant to anyone who can’t spend $35,000 for a truck or $5,000 for a watch.

When kids work they’re a blast!

Peace.
