One Stop Shop… here is something I hope to provide to you each and every week, because it is sometimes impossible to find it all on your own.

So here is the first installment of Crash Gladys' One Stop Shop… email suggestions for how to make this better are always welcomed, after all, I'm not doing this because I enjoy staying up until Midnight on a Sunday night, I'm doing it to help you news and notes seekers find all the scoop and results in one freakin' place!  Yeah, OK, I'm gonna try to eventually get this page sponsored so I can support that high octane latte purchase that helps to keep me awake, too.  Again, lemme know what you would like added or changed:  CrashG@SpeedFreaks.TV

NOTE: There are links throughout this entire page… click on a driver or rider name to move straight to their site and click on article titles or race results to direct you to where there is even further info.

Enjoy!

* www.MyRacer.com Freakin' Pick of the Week:  We had to love the title of the blog by Jezzzme:  If it ain't NASCAR, its just boys playin' with their balls
Ha!  Salute that March Madness, eh Jezzz?

OK, Bike Week fans, let’s hit it… for all the Daytona articles, results and scoop on the AMA Series, here are my top recommendations:
 www.cyclenews.com and
 www.racerxill.com

Superbike Win – Ben Spies (’06 Champ, picking up where he left off…)
Supercross Win – James Bubba Stewart (current points leader, on his way to his first
        national championship)
Flat Track Win – Jake Johnson
And your Daytona 200 Formula X-Treme winner was Freak Friend, Steve Rapp

Supermoto and X Games Gold Medalist Doug Henry suffered a back injury this week in a Florida racing accident.  As of this calligraphy, the update on his condition is that he is upbeat (typical Doug) and working toward recovery after being transferred to an Atlanta hospital.  Feel free to send well wishes here:

The MotoGP Series opened up in Qatar, where NO one had the speed for the Sophomore Rider, Aussie, Casey Stoner.  The Red, White & Blue Crew finished 4, 6, 8 and 13 (in the order of John Hopkins 4th, Colin Edwards 6th, '06 Champ Nicky Hayden 8th, Kenny Roberts Jr. 13th)

How about ‘dem NASCAR boys in Vegas… I of course use that slang-y twang when referring to NASCAR, because of the conversations we had on our radio show tonight.  Thank you to our friend David Poole for bringing this political subject to light.  According to Washington House Member Larry Seaquist, NASCAR fans, “… are not the kind of people you would want living next door to you.  They’d be the ones with the junky cars in the front yard and would try to slip around the law.”
WHAT??
That was even said after House Speaker Frank Chopp referred to The King Richard Petty, 7x NASCAR Cup Champ as “that guy who got picked up for a DUI.”
Not quite the false accusation I would like to have been known making… what a dumba**.

Do you have a problem with those comments like I do?  Feel free to email the so-quoted House members you folks in Washington voted in to office, or call them at 360-786-7920:

Anyway, back to some info from the actual race in Las Vegas.  Can I get a woohoo for Mr. Jon Wood, please?!  He made his NASCAR Cup debut this weekend, making it the first time that a Wood family member has been in the Wood driver’s seat in 43 years!  That's freakin' cool!
Your Busch Series winner was Jeff Burton… and the 3-Peat Cup win went to 2006 Champ Jimmie Johnson (yep, third year in a row to win the Lost Wages weekend – so much for that track resurfacing drama as it didn't seem to phase JJ).

Bud Boy's Best Bits, courtesy Fingerprint Inc. PR, "The track was very slick and very rough, and I was just out there hangin' on and drivin' my ass off every lap. I think everybody was… I saw some miraculous saves out there – I mean world-class, top-10 unbelievable saves – right in front of me. Guys that should have crashed every corner and didn't. The track was outta control because it's a new surface and it was hot and slick and nasty."Dale Earnhardt Jr. who really is in the hot seat to finish well in the next two races, or else he may jeopardize a guaranteed qualifying position by not being in the Top 35 in points each week.  Today's 11th place finish moved him up only to the 28th spot in points.  Ough!

What about points leader Mark Martin?  Was he lying when he said these words this week?  “I have been chasing that Cup for nearly 20 years and at this point in time I have put that chasing thing behind me… I don’t want to race for points. In 2007, I’m taking a break.”  Yeah… so we'll see your point leading butt in Atlanta next weekend, right?  And Bristol the next?

Oh, but if Mark DOES stay to capture the Cup, will it be the last year of the Nextel Cup as the name should change to Sprint as early as '08?  Click Here for More.

Champ Car tested this week in Laguna Seca… how about that Sebastien Bourdais?!  A freakin' new track record (note – the previous record was set by a Toyota F1 car last year – much more powerful animal, yet he still beat it!)
And well, maybe we won’t see standing starts any time in the near future (definitely not in the Vegas season opener April 1), but don’t count them out just because of the stall-fest in Monterey… hey, you try it, wise asses!  Series Principal Kevin Kalkhoven did say that ovals would be making their return to the CC schedule, possibly next year, and that folks should not panic with the low car count just yet as many new teams will be making announcements… even before round one in a couple of weeks.
Now, will someone PLEASE sign proven winners Bruno Junqueira and Oriol Servia, instead of letting any more ride buyers in!!!!!  I’m so tired of that situation!

OK, on to some fun news… NHRA Top Fueler "Fast" Jack Beckman became a new daddy this week.  His wife Jenna welcomed a healthy son to the nitro paddock on March 8… congrats to the Beckmans!
Also from NHRA-land, Funny Car pilot Ashley Force and Top Fueler "Hot" Rod Fuller shook hands and kissed babies in the NASCAR pits… "Ashley and Dale Jr., sitting in a tree"… yeah right!  But the smile on their faces is a bit suspicious, don’t ya think?  Photos on the NHRA Site.

Other drag racing results on the weekend: March Meet in Bakersfield and Lucas Oil Sportsman Series from Orlando

The IndyCar Series was relatively quiet… as was Grand Am.  But the American LeMans Series Season Opener, the always fun 12 Hours of Sebring is next weekend… if you haven't made your plans to camp in the Zoo, you might be too late as that baby sells out way in advance.  But do whatever you can to check it out anyway if you will be anywhere near Florida on March 16-18.  We Freaks spent some time with both Graham Rahal and last year's Champ Allan McNish on Sunday night.  Check out the Jeg's Media Page for their intvus.

Formula One starts next weekend as well… another topic we discussed in length with Graham Rahal.

What about Sprints, Midgets or World of Outlaws… click the links to find out!  Quickly, Tim Kaeding and Kerry Madsen each nabbed a WoO win on opposite sides of the world.

And also south of the States, Sebastien Loeb won the World Rally Mexico and Off Roader Alan Pflueger won the relocated SCORE Baja 250.  Two wheeled winners at the Baja 250 were the same as last year in the Honda team of Robby Bell/Kendall Norman
A support class to the World Rally Championship (WRC), the Production World Rally Championship (PWRC) featured America's Travis Pastrana.  The '06 Rally America National Champ and Multi Time X Games Gold Medalist finished 15th overall, 5th in class which puts him now 9th in the season standings.

Now finally, SpeedFreaks' own Lugg Nuttz, one of the worst actors in the world, couldn't even hold character this evening and just had to argue with our 17 year old Mac Tools winner about whether or not Fish Tacos existed in Salem, IL.  Check out the Sunday Night show archive (Apx. 2/3 through the 2nd hour) for his goofiness.  What are we going to do with him?

Until next week… that's it Freaks!
