Roof top suites at Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, California…

Outside the front door of the Texas Motor Speedway suites…

Turn 4’s mountainous view, with a cold Bud and rusty lounger, at Phoenix International Raceway…

A Recreational Vehicle’s rooftop, with again a cold Bud, rusty lounger and a fine Texas honey, on the east side of the strip at The Motorplex in Ennis, Texas…

Oh yea, the Mediterranean for the Dakar Rally in Spain, with a cold Red Bull and a Spanish ‘sita…

If you have the same deviant mind I do, you think I’m droppin’ the linen with a two legged love bean while taking in some of motorsport’s liveliest venues.  Nope.

Sarge is inhaling the wonderment of wonders, a sunset.

I’ve seen some beauties at these concrete monuments.  And, yes deviants, I’ve seen some beauties while pant less.  That’s the point.  No jacket required.

G**damn is a sunset a floss of the day’s trials or what?

The sun can be many things.  It’s a nuisance on the backstretch for some stock car pilots at California Speedway’s Labor Day race.  Just as the forty-three four wheelers (uh, forty-two, Harvick’s already rinsing off a DNF) get use to their Ray Bans, er, Oakley’s, the eternal burn has said good night to the West Coast.

So what, ninety-thou-plus get a live mosaic Kodak moment as part of their Fontana ticket party pack.  NOW, is the ticket increase worth it Cali clan?

In fact, I say stop the Freakin’ Labor Day dog fight for five minutes as the Hasbro Ball of Flames drops into the Pacific.  Drivers then park their billboards, unbuckle, hold hands and in unison, bark out Motorhead’s The Chase Is Better Than The Catch (Ace of Spades LP, November in 1982).

Hell, Harvick might even postpone his weekly stock car punt or early soap on a rope rain dance for this chorus of choirboys.

Freak Nation, I really had no idea where this was going until I saw my unwrapped gift outside of the window of the 7-fiver-7, 40K above the earth.  The Scorpion’s Coming Home was resonating in these Texas ears and I again was taking in another free ride of an Endless Summer’s sunset….With my pants on.

“BARTENDER!”
