Spent my Memorial Day weekend in Jetmore, KS this year. Two things. I do miss Los Angeles. But I can use a cranial and gut blast of a reality check just like this about every quarter. Kansas has great folks. Killer hearts. But life in the K to the S, it's a school zone and a hot roddin' short bus.

Helio wins, life is good. Very good after what he has been through.

Danica Patrick a top three in the 500. Life is better. But really, she’s already won a bigger race. Too many spend time bitchin’ about her mouth rather than celebrating what she has accomplished. Short of stealing a kids meal from a Camel tokin' toddler, she can’t do much wrong.

Having a grubdown at Steak And Shake with her mom and dad? Ask Crash.

Where's Jeremy Mayfield now?

Damn Smoke. Your waistline is lookin’ like you belong in Hee Haw. Please son, sprinkle in a little Dexatrim. I want you to be around for all the “Billy Bad Butts.”

Limbaugh is still a dweeb. And who cries more, Glen Beck or your three time Indy 500 Champion Helio Castroneves?

Some seem to have forgotten about the found ganga residue in the plastic bottle while entering airport security; or the positive drug test; or the double middle finger blast Michael Vick unfurled to a few lucky fans. We should be more concerned about this dude surviving a free meal and not whether he’s going to play in the Wildcat.

Someone, maybe Amp Energy or National Guard, get to Sir Hendrick and force his non-committal self into punting not one, but all of Earnhardt Jr.’s crew. Throw out a few engineers and take the playbook with you. Dale's performance in the Coke 600 was as un-memorial as it gets.

You see the ESPN documentary Kobe: Doin' Work? Considering Spike Lee’s narcissism it should have been called Kobe: Doin’ Work for Spike. I miss Michael Jordan.

NASCAR’s 3pm EST Memorial Day race freeze in honor of those who have served in our military was all balls. No pussification there. Big, mad, giganto freakin' props to the stock car executives.

Love you dad! WW2 Veteran and the original freakin' road warrior.
