This is the Statt Mann Baby. Time to Scatt a little bit.

While working on the Freakies for the year my mind drifted to Ken Block. We lost him in January and some of us haven’t found a place on our personal shelves yet.

He was a large personality and will be missed for some time yet.

Lia BlockBut thinking of Ken you can’t help but think about his daughter, 17-year-old Lia. That teenager is the kind of warrior you wished others could emulate. She’s fast. She’s talented. She listens. And she has
the passion to be the best.

This year she became the youngest to ever win an American rally title when she became the two-wheel-drive champion. She got faster all year and it wasn’t because of the money or the Block name. When you’re at
speed in the forest the trees don’t care who or what you are or what you’re driving.

She conquered all of that and ended the year with a shocking note. She’s going to a driver development program with Williams Racing in F1. Didn’t see that coming did you?

She’s always said: “I’m not my Dad.” And she’s not. She might be better.

Peace.
