Well, all I have heard this year is: In 2007, NASCAR will tweak the Race for the Chase format.  So, giving it a lot of thought this past weekend, here is what I think NASCAR should do. Lets add a Wild Car!  This is how it would work.

At the conclusion of the 21st race, fans would vote for the next five weeks, to decide, who they think should be the eleventh car in the race for the chase.  Voting would be done at NASCAR.com, as well as voting by text, at the tracks and through the snail mail.

This format would be the first of it's kind (Ed.Note: in racing), and would give the fans the choice of who they think should be in the Chase. The driver would be announced at the conclusion of the 26th race. The bonus money would revert to the 12th place car at the end of the season. this format would give the fans something no other sport ever has! A Choice in who they think deserves to make the Chase.

Now as for changing the name to the Sprint cup? No freakin way, let's change it to: "Sprint for the NEXTEL Cup! Sprint gets their name, and we keep the NEXTEL Cup name, saving NASCAR and fans, millions on the crap we have already purchased.

Well, that's my two cents, I hope Mike Helton or Brian France read this, like my idea and run with it!!! This, in my opinion, is the perfect tweak to the system in place. All the other ideas I have heard, make no sense for the sport or for it's 75 million fans. We the fans support this sport, lets put it in our hands!

So as I always say:

Pull those belts tight, the greens gonna fly!
And this ain't no ordinary ride!
