This is the Statt Mann Baby. Time to Scatt a little bit.

I’ve been in the news business for more than fifty years. I know how to be fair in coverage but pure objectivity is difficult for a living, breathing adult with experiences and a brain.

Lewis Hamilton

That said, it’s tough to be a fan. I’m cheering hard for Lewis Hamilton to get his record eighth Formula One championship this season. I’m not ashamed of that admission. At 36, he’s physically slowing down – or should be – and not getting faster.

His team at Mercedes has been so good for so long it’s just as difficult to maintain championship excellence year after year.

All of this is preamble to a heart-breaking finish to the F1 race in Azerbaijan Sunday morning. Hamilton took the lead in a late race restart only to have a breaking issue and ultimately finish out of the points.

I count 16 races left in 2021. Hopefully there won’t be much more heart break like in Baku. Tough morning for this fan.

Peace.
