This is the Statt Mann Baby!!  Time to Scatt a little bit.

It’s disappointing how racing people get this “holier than thou” attitude about many things especially cheating.

This week Major League Baseball star Alex Rodriguez admitted using steroids several years ago.  Sports fans scream that he’s a cheat who should be hung by his thumbs.

But Michael Waltrip gets caught cheating at Daytona.  He’s penalized but keeps driving, selling stuff, and announcing on TV.  A hero!

Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire and Roger Clemons are basically kicked out of baseball because they might have used performance enhancing drugs in their careers.

NASCAR drivers use illegal, recreational drugs but they’re allowed back in racing maybe a year later.

A-Rod’s a pariah.  NASCAR Crew Chief Chad Knaus is sent home for building illegal cars but each time he comes back and is allowed to win championships, three in a row.

In sports you’re a cheat.  But in racing if you’re not cheating you’re not trying hard enough.

I just don’t get it.  Do you?

Peace.
