This is the Statt Mann Baby. It's time to Scatt a little bit.

I often change my mind on the issue of dynasty in sports. I guess I come down on the idea of the value in being able to witness greatness. And that’s important to me in just about all instances except where it comes to at least one NFL team.

I love watching greatness even when it involves an assembly line worker who’s figured out the economy of installing a bolt or turning a screw.

This weekend Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena won their ninth consecutive World Rally Championship with a victory at Rally France, their home event.

Think about that for a moment; nine straight. The parents of some of the kids standing in line for their autograph this weekend hadn’t even met when Loeb and Elena started on their string. Nine straight.

I have some theories about how they do it. Loeb’s driving style is different from his competitors. He has an economy of motion in his driving style that makes him faster than the competition by splits of seconds per mile.

We make a big deal about Jimmie Johnson’s five straight. Sebastien Loeb has won nine straight and there’s no indication he can’t get ten.

And I’ve witnessed them. That should be special to a fan. It is to me.

Peace.
