This is the Statt Mann Baby. Time to Scatt a little bit…

It’s been a historic week.

The mind boggles at the headlines and what they mean.

Even the motorsports world is affected by the Russian Invasion of Ukraine.

The Formula One industry decided quickly to cancel the Russian Grand Prix planned for Sochi in September.

The announcement, though, left an opening. The last line said: “in the current circumstances.”

Does that mean a race if the war is over? I hope not.

The Hungarian Grand Prix is about 700 miles from the Ukrainian capitol Kyiv.

Maybe that race should be reconsidered.

There’s no World Rally Championship event closer than Croatia with Hungary being a buffer. There’s a WRC event in Estonia in July which shares a border with Russia. I’d move or drop that event as well.

We’re entering a dark time.

And, believe it or not, there are millions who believe Russia invading a neighbor, killing innocents and bombing homes, is a good thing.

We can only hope for…

Peace.
