This is the Statt Mann Baby. Time to Scatt a little bit…

I’ve been super critical of NASCAR in the past. But things are happening that deserve some positive attention.

2022 Coliseum Clash

For example, we’re told that seventy percent of the tickets sold for this weekend’s Busch Light Clash at the Los Angeles Coliseum were bought by people who’d never been to a NASCAR event.

Some of those people might be there for the Ice Cube concert but they got a NASCAR race in addition.

And selling tickets is a good thing for entertainment promoter.

And in Virginia, students at Virginia State University are getting a chance to work behind the scenes in the NASCAR industry.

These students from an Historically Black University outside Richmond are working as interns in NASCAR programming.

They’re learning about jobs that aren’t behind the wheel or fixing wheels.

They’re learning NASCAR’s management piece.

Maybe NASCAR is doing more than banning Confederate flags at the track.

Now if they could only manage fewer and shorter races.

Peace.
