This is the Statt Mann, baby!  Time to Scatt a little bit…

One of the video links I received this week outlined the Rolex 24 Hours and how it's changed through the years since it was part of the world sports car calendar.

Indeed pictures showed fans hanging from the fences to see the finish of a race where a pack of Porsches blanketed the checkered flag.

I have to admit that there used to be a lot more fan appeal to what's now called the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

But, The racing now is much closer than it was then when factories controlled who ran, won and lost.  And after a generation or two of that, the factories said enough and left leaving the race on life support for several years.

My point is sometimes everyone at the fight isn't a fight fan.  They might be an Ali fan or a Pacquaio fan or a Mayweather fan or a Porsche fan.  But they aren't racing fans because the racing fans were served this weekend at Daytona with a close race and suspense to the end.  And what more can you ask for?

If you believe all the drunks on Spring Break at Sebring are race fans, think again.  And if all you want is technology, go to a computer show.

It's all perspective isn't it?

Peace.
