This is the Statt Mann Baby!!  Time to Scatt a little bit.

I’ve decided F1 doesn’t care if you’re an F1 fan.  F1 is.

Consider Abu Dhabi.  Millions were spent by that country to tell the world it exists as a place to visit.  And if you watched this weekend’s F1 race and didn’t come away with that desire, don’t bother.  But get out of the way.

Just understand that whatever it cost, it was worth it.  If you don’t think so, consider the trillions we’ve spent in the past year to jump start an ailing economy, create jobs and get foreign dollars into American cash registers.

You think anyone – foreign or domestic – wants to go Talladega or Bristol or Pocono or Fontana through what they’ve seen this year?

One race this weekend allowed an entire culture to show off to nearly a billion TV viewers worldwide.  You think the billions used to make that happen were worth it? Especially when you look at the foreign dollars that will fill Abu Dhabi cash registers over the next year?

Let’s see: nearly a billion TV viewers worldwide versus a mysterious 75 million that never seen to find an American TV remote.  Which would you rather have?

See, it’s not important that you’re an F1 racing fan.  The race wasn’t what was going on this weekend. F1 exists without your cheers. Funny how that works.

Peace.
