This is the Statt Mann Baby!!  Time to Scatt a little bit.

Late last week the ethanol industry made a pitch to have ethanol levels in gasoline raised from the current ten percent.

This doesn’t necessarily come from environmental concerns.  Since last summer when we were bamboozled at the pump, consumers finally told the oil industry to keep its gasoline and put it somewhere unpleasant but safe.

Hence, there’s a glut on the market and the ethanol producers are suffering because if no one’s buying gas, they don’t sell ethanol.  We’re told some small ethanol producers are facing bankruptcy.

The new Obama Administration has indicated it’s willing to consider the plan as long as cars no cars are harmed in the making of these new plans.

All this seems strange.  On one hand we’re told to conserve.  Then when we conserve, a plan is launched to make us use more.

All the while, we’re dragging our feet coming up with alternative fuels that are renewable, clean and, in some cases, even higher performing.

The major oil companies make billions a day.  They apologize to no one. And while they weigh their profits we’re in an economic civil war arguing over the crumbs.

Just stunningly amazing.  What are we going to do about it?

Peace.
