This is the Statt Mann Baby!!  Time to Scatt a little bit.

The best thing that could happen to the world of motorsports has happened.  One of the top open-wheel teams in America, Sierra Sierra, won the overall Wednesday in an invitational time attack event at Buttonwillow Raceway.

For the unaware, time attack is a motorsports competition where the entrants test each other’s ability to build and tune the fastest and best.

The Sierra Sierra program has continued quietly during the summer when it carved out some time from its Formula Atlantic and open-wheel efforts to concentrate on its Mitsubishi Evo test bed.

The drivers, Jonathan Bomarito and David Empringham, are two of the best at what they do and proved it Wednesday.

Now, after Wednesday, it’s time for the tuner world to step to the plate because the motor racing world is learning what it’s known for years; that motorsports racing doesn’t have to be thirty million dollar fenders or ten million dollar wings.

Motorsports competition is just that; a competition to find who can build the fastest and the best.  All the rest of it is marketing.  Combining the two will kill our sport.  Sierra Sierra is finding a way to keep it alive.

Thank goodness!

Peace.
