This is the Statt Mann Baby. Time to Scatt a little bit…

Ford is becoming the pony in the motor racing pile. It’s not only looking at ways to electrify motorsports where it can. It’s also plugging in NASCAR’s young guns who run behind the Ford blue oval.

2022 Mustang Gt4

In a couple weeks four NASCAR wannabee stars will be running in the IMSA Challenge race behind the wheel of two Mustang GT4s. Austin Cindric, Harrison Burton, Chase Briscoe and Hailie Deegan are all part of the Ford Performance program in NASCAR.

The BMW M Endurance Challenge on Jan. 28 will let the four get valuable experience turning right and left before the NASCAR season gets underway next month.

A day later, Cindric will step into a Mercedes GT3 and race in the new GTD PRO class at the Rolex 24. In fact, the four are at the Roar Before the 24 practice sessions this weekend.

A generation ago Ford promoted that it had a Better Idea. Seems to me it still does.

Peace.
