This is the Statt Mann, Baby. It’s time to Scatt a Little Bit…

The broadcast of this weekend’s Le Mans 24 Hours adds perspective to our discussion last week putting the race in a motorsports Triple Crown.

FOX did all it could to ruin the experience for me, at least. Eventually I turned it off and went to bed. In the past I’d tune in the race and watch it all night between naps in bed.

This year, however, FOX had different plans. Apparently it’s goal was selling websites and distant channels that might not be available the rest of the year.

I had no idea where the race was half the time. It bounced between FOXSports1 and FOXSports2 on cable and FOXSportsGo and FOXSportsRacing online. That’s when it was there.  At one point it wasn’t anywhere when the schedule said the race would be on FOXSports2 but a delayed soccer match was there instead.

Apparently the announcers heard from fans. I heard apologies several times during the night.

Leave it to television to bolix the enjoyment of a Mt. Rushmore race.

Peace.
