This is the Statt Mann, Baby. It’s time to Scatt a Little Bit…

It was fun to watch Chad Reed win Saturday night’s Supercross race in Atlanta. Reed won the 2004 and 2008 Supercross titles . He also won the scrum at the start in Atlanta and led all the way to the checkered flag.

It was the first win in more than a year for the fourth most successful rider in Supercross history.

But FOX Sports often made the race confusing to watch. At one point there was a picture with Reed well in front of the pack. Another picture showed a battle back in the field. There was a list of top five riders. There was a list of riders battling for tenth including their pictures and giant numbers indicating how far they were behind the tenth place rider.

There were headlines rolling across the bottom of the screen. There was a bit of space for sponsor information. And, of course, there was the FOX Sports logo. I found it was easier to look away. But, then, I’m an old man.

Maybe all that information kept the attention of my children. Or their children. Or anyone interested in a video game. That’s if they didn’t turn off the TV to watch that leggy blonde battle the Hessians in the woods… game.

Peace.
