This is the Statt Mann Baby!!  Time to Scatt a little bit.

There’s a leader in the clubhouse for the Most Insane Reality of 2009.

I’m buying gas at my local station Friday night, trying to take advantage of a debit card discount.  It took three trips to figure out the winning combination.

But in the process I learn I had to approve a 35 cent fee to get the discount.

But wait, there’s more.

As I was pumping the gas, I figured out the special discount was only four cents a gallon.  Grade school math revealed I’d just paid 35 cents to get a 24 cent discount.

It cost me 35 cents to save 24. Figure that out.

Raising the issue with the foreign-born owner, I was assured: “This is America!  You get robbed from one hand to see it in the other.”

The Most Insane Reality of 2009: I’m paying 35 cents for a quarter.

I guess I missed that lecture in grade school Econ 101.  Or I’m forced front and center to learn American Econ 2009.

Peace.
