This is the Statt Mann  Baby.  Time to Scatt a little bit.

Some curiosities from Sunday’s Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka won by points leader Lewis Hamilton.

The win over Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg moves Hamilton to a 48 point lead with five races left in the season.  That includes the US Grand Prix at COTA in a month.

Rosberg offered some levity afterwards saying Hamilton’s jump from turn two meant Rosberg had no chance to win the race which ended 52 laps later.

Some pain for two-time champion Fernando Alonso who spoke with frustration over the radio during the race.  He said his the Honda engine in his McLaren felt like a GP2 engine.  This with Honda officials present at Honda’s official test track.

He was reprimanded by his McLaren boss Ron Dennis but both agreed a lot of work is needed to make the Honda competitive in F1.

The Mercedes leadership came away with anger that their 1-2 finish wasn’t covered better on television.  They have a point.  But late in the race Hamilton was so far in the lead he pitted for tires without losing his position.

I guess if you believe Rosberg, the race was over after two turns.

Peace.
