Dixon is a LONG time Friend of the Freaks so when he comes to visit it’s a great few minutes. Steve TorrenceNHRA Top Fuel Chicago Winner Steve Torrence, the defending Top Fuel champion, won his fourth straight race on the NHRA season. Torrence is dominating the series in 2019. He must be in the heads of the other drivers because his Capco team is running so consistently strong. But Torrence is getting used to his Freak Nation visits. That why we like having him. Listen…

Ty MajeskiARCA Pocono Winner Ty Majeski is making a name for himself in the series very quickly. His 2019 ride is part-time. But of the first three races, he won two in a row. And, luckily for him, those wins came when the lader series was running with the major Cup team owners watching. SimonPagenaud2019 Indy 500 Winner Simon Pagenaud scored a dramatic victory over Alexander Rossi Sunday. His visit with The Freaks was quick but memorable. It was Pagenaud’s third straight week with The Freaks after winning the Indianapolis Grand Prix followed by the Indy 500 Pole and, finally, the race to own the month of May at the Speedway. Pagenaud’s conversation went everywhere from Freaks’ Mojo to his favorite topic, his dog Norman. Listen…

SimonPagenaud2019 Indy 500 Pole Sitter Simon Pagenaud was the headline from a dramatic day 2 of qualifying at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Pagenaud had to survive the Fast Nine qualifying for next weekend’s Indy 500. He came into The Freak Nation Sunday night to talk ab out how he won the Pole, the voices he hears in his head, his conversations with his dog and t he woman who sends him lucky charms from France. Chandler SmithARCA Toledo Winner Chandler Smith won Sunday afternoon on General Tires. The 16-year-old came into The Freak Nation shortly thereafter to talk about the win and his success in the ARCA series this year. And, yes, we said that right: Smith is 16 and he’s winning races against grown men, some older than his father. And like nearly every driver in the ARCA series, Smith knows how to handle an interview no matter how young he is. Listen…

RonCappsNHRA Virginia Funny Car Winner Ron Capps might be the closest friend the Freaks have in motorsports. It’s always a grand time when he visits The Freak Nation because it means our friend has won an event.  It’s his second win in a row and it was sandwiched between the competition and what sounded like one GRAND party going on in the background.  Listen…

SimonPagenaudIndyCar Indianapolis Grand Prix Winner Simon Pagenaud is a longtime Friend of the Freaks. His visit Sunday night ended a long victory drought for Pagenaud that dates back to late 2017. The Penske Racing driver’s win Saturday is being called brilliant. He chased down five-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon in the rain and passed him with less than two laps left in the two-hour race. Christian EckesARCA Nashville Winner Christian Eckes came into The Freak Nation after his Music City victory on General Tires. But he stole the conversation with word that his special guitar trophy itself may be stolen. At least he hasn’t received it yet and no one knows where it is. RonCappsNHRA Atlanta Funny Car Winner Ron Capps is a long time Friend of the Freaks. So when he comes into The Freak Nation there’s always a fun conversation. His 2016 Funny Car championship was his high point. The win Sunday, though, closes a dry spell for Capps. He talked about that and his friendship with 16-time champion John Force, one of the drivers Capps beat Sunday on his way to the Atlanta victory. Listen…
