Angelle broke through with her first win on a Harley on her birthday weekend. The winningest woman in racing got her first win in four years and she was pretty happy about it. Brett HolmesARCA Series Kentucky Winner Brett Holmes made a debut in The Freak Nation Sunday night. And he did it with some fun. Holmes explained how he was so frustrated he took a year off with his team to figure out what was wrong. That was last season. Now he’s second in the points with the win in Kentucky. Chris FergusonLucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Diamond National Winner Chris Ferguson made a step up in class last weekend when he won the Diamond Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway in Missouri. Ferguson comes from a racing family where his aunts, uncles and Dad all have trips into victory circle on their resume. Austin DillonNASCAR Texas Cup Winner Austin Dillon came into The Freak Nation Sunday night after ending his 88 race losing streak Sunday afternoon. Dillon had to survive not only the race and its competitors but he also fought 140 degree temperatures inside the racecar. Austin needed first aid when the race was over but he was anxious to get back home to his newborn son to enjoy the spoils of victory. Listen…

Pipo DeraniIMSA Sebring Winners Pipo Derani & Felipe Nasr called into The Freak Nation Sunday night while they were on their way to a celebratory dinner. Their Saturday win was a special IMSA make good race. Instead of the Sebring 12 Hour this was less than three hours or Sebring Lite. Still, it amounted to Derani’s fourth win at the legendary track and, for Nasr, it amounted to a win after Nasr survived the Covid-19 disease. Listen…

Cole CusterNASCAR Kentucky Cup Winner Cole Custer came into The Freak Nation Sunday night still amazed at his surprise win after a last corner pass at Kentucky Speedway. Custer’s win in his rookie season is a rarity at Kentucky. And a lot of people who were gambling on his victory lost faith halfway through the race and lost out because of Cole’s heroics in the last 400 yards of the race. Listen…

Felix RosenquistIndyCar Road America 2 Winner Felix Rosenquist of Sweden has been pushing hard for the win in his first season in IndyCar. That first win came Sunday afternoon following a late race pass against Pato O’Ward. Rosenquist has been challenging the fastest in the series but he had trouble in race one Saturday. Matt HaganNHRA Funny Car Winner Matt Hagan is a regular in The Freak Nation. His visit Sunday night was welcome as the NHRA returned to racing after the four month break because of the pandemic. Hagan is a busy man with several personal and family business interests. He said he got a lot done in his time off.
